Really interesting use of colors here! It's very diverse. Now, I feel the red streak on the left side throws it off a bit. Though, it it kind of interesting. This in my perspective, is like looking down at a big city from a ledge, but it's like a fish eye lens, so it's a trippy effect, a trick to the eyes. Now THAT is interesting.
It kind of goes with the song, giving that "warped" feeling with the vision. The red lines confuse me, unless they're shooting through a futuristic tube in the air (no idea). Interesting mix of detail in some parts, and more abstract features in other parts.
Well, the red streak's intention was threefold:
- To represent a big ol' beam shooting down from the sky (you can see a bunch in the background)
- To partially emulate the CD sleeves of old - might have just been a regional thing, but the CDs I had always had a "fold here" bit about 4/5s to the left of the cover. Little musical touch. Least to me.
- Finally, and this is probably where it failed most, was to help focus the picture on BIG CITY and the duo under his face. This might just be my own odd perspective here, but I personally find it extremely difficult to focus ON the red streak, instead my focus sliding up and down the right like a ruler or some shit.
Shame it was lost in translation. If I could do it all again, I'd probably keep the red streak, but get rid of the inverse effect and instead make it plainly transparent. Along with getting rid of most of the other red crap on the picture. Really overshot this one.
But ah well, was too busy listening to the song to really think about it. Thanks for the review, man!
Those are some fantastic colors.
