These are some finalized characters I’ve made, mostly wanted to just experiment with design and silhouettes, but it’s turned into a bit of a worldbuilding project.
Character names and backstory (if you care lol):
Knuck - A Vietnam vet who returns to Midwich after the war to carry out some “unfinished business”. He arrives a week before the bombs drop, narrowly avoiding certain death. Knuck wears a big coat and steel-toed boots that offer him protection and carries around a metal-plated walking stick, a pocket knife, and a pair of brass knuckles. The last person that made the mistake of messing with him hasn’t been heard from in weeks.
Lochlan - An Ill-tempered Brit who has had a string of bad luck all around, they moved to a nearby town Cedar Creek from London a couple of weeks before the bombs went off. He lost his left leg to a car bomb explosion in 1978 which was set up by a group of IRA members that he had gotten into a scuffle with prior. He fled to America fearing that more attacks would follow, and found a quiet old neighborhood to settle into. He would later be evacuated and learned that his house had been lost in the bombing.
Scar - IRA member that set off a car bomb in 1978 on an unsuspecting British civilian. He fled to Midwich Valley out of fear of British prosecution. A short, round man that visits the pub each week more times than he can count. He carries a metal pipe with him and has been ever since getting into a fight at a riot, which gave him a scar on his left eye, earning him the nickname “Scar”
Albin - A Swedish immigrant who moved to the US to pursue his music career in the experimental rock genre. He found himself living in Austin, Texas, “The music capital of the world” where he would perform frequently. One venue brought him to Midwich Valley just a few hours before the attack. Since then, he’s set up camp in a nearby hotel where he would stay for years to come. Albin refuses to wear hats and almost always checks a mirror to make sure his hair is to his standards
