Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Progress on art during the Fall was on a bit of a crawl also dedicating time to working on something for a collab, but that should be done early next year and we’ll be back at a more even pace with things. Wanted to get something done before the end of the year and decided to fast track finishing this first.

The idea behind this was inspired by a tweet I saw a while ago debating about Middle Eastern clothing and how often orientalist stereotypes appear in media. Shantae also counts as part of the conversation, so I thought of “what if you had to design primary costumes for Shantae that weren’t the belly dancer?” At the same time I also wanted to do a take on Shantae’s magic mode look, albeit a little less “fanservicy” as in the games - so I put two and two together.
