Two characters from one series drawn in the style of someone else.

What do you guys think? I'm thinking about using the shading regularly.

Heehee, I got here by searching "Nomura" in the search bar :)
I know the art style you wanted to make.
How did you get used to drawing like this? Did you copy drawings of Nomura's characters or did you just study them? How long did it take? Because I love his style :)

Kiigen responds:

Uh, well honestly it's pretty mediocre... really.

The only real things I was trying to do like what I saw was things like the line art and how sharp the outlines are. One of the reasons I think the Panty character was made better. The right one lacks the sharp corners in the outlines.

When making this I looked at The World Ends With You character art for Reference. I only recently got the chance to see the game... I knew it was Nomura, but I didn't play it yet. I really love how defined the characters are. I also really love how defined and unique the characters from PSG are too.... so thats where this came from.

As opposed to whether I study his characters, Yeah, I guess so. I've always loved his character designs.

There was no trace or anything... I did use reference art for the character Shiki from TWEWY, here's the main pic:

gettin the blu ray son

Kiigen responds:

Yessims, I am in need of getting a copy for a friend.

Looks sorta like TWEWY style, but not. Whatever, I like how it looks, good anatomy, good show, good pic

Kiigen responds:

That was the aimed for style KGP, you win.

This looks really good man. Sometimes you learn a lot by messing around with other peoples styles. I think you executed this piece extremely well!

i love how you drew stocking <3
