one of the creatures that are commonly found throughout the secondary continent. stretching from the barren sand plains, up to the temperate mountain ranges of the southern kingdom. they are nocturnal creatures so during day time, encountering them would be pretty rare since they lurk deep inside hollow trees or cave entrances. However, as the sun sets, they will come out of their hiding place to search for their next victim, using mostly their antennae-like appendages to feel their way through the darkness.

the creature depicted in the image is the most commonly found forest types in the northern nomad's domains. they are the most darkly colored and have distinct orange patterns. The sand plains variant are much duller in coloration due to their surroundings and are smaller in comparison. both type's exoskeleton are very useful as armor while their sharp limbs can make decent weapons however the forest types are known to be the stronger and more durable.

The southern variants are the smallest of them all and are generally no threat to humans, but, they are basically useless as either weapons or armors, just like most arthropods in the southern mountains. one of the many reasons southern inhabitants often trade mining resources with the northern nomads for the more durable animal-based weapons and armors.

Though these arachnids very much resemble scorpions They are descendants of whip spiders therefore the 'stinger' at their tail is just a way to intimidate predators. It is the claws that one must be careful of, they're not strong enough to mutilate body parts but it is because of that very reason they are very dangerous. once they get a good grip of you, you'll either be lucky enough to cut your own limbs off, or you'll be dragged back into their eagerly waiting mouth parts.
