Elder vs. Bonewyvern

Share

The elders barely leave their temple nowadays. But after the last incident at Soul's crossing, a giant Skulldragon slipped through one of the last gates. They were faster, now the fate of hundrets of thousands of citizens lies in the hands of a rusty old elder. With the power of a meditation that lasted 53 years, he releases a giant wind spell so strong, it could suck and crush everything in its way into super fine dust. Will it be enough to crush the demon or will it be enough to push it back into the gate, so we can seal it away?

This piece started out as a spitpainting:

Spent some hours(~7 maybe?) on it in Photoshop CC.
First time I worked on a pretty huge resolution. Also the first time since several years that I took the time to work on it more than 4 hours.

It was part of a series of spitpaintings with a small story of a boy running into the spirit world, breaking an ancient contract. To keep monsters from flooding into our realm, the elders send their quickest masters to destroy the portals.
