Fall Away

Author Comments

Watercolor painting I did for my mother for Christmas. :3 Took about 3 days, and I rushed the sky and clouds to be ready on time, so they suck. DX
Also, this is my first attempt at any type of painting for about 3 (?) years. Needless to say, I'm not all that happy with it, but I still love it.

This is amazing!

Man, I am just loving that straw hat! The color of her dress goes so well with the shadowing. She's cute.

:D Thank you!

the sky could use a bit more work but good

kashidoodles responds:

Yeah, I touched that in the comments.

Very nice!

I'm not sure whether to agree with you on the sky or not. On the one hand, to smooth and define would improve the picture overall. On the other hand, the rough texture emphasises the woman (and she is beautifully done). Like a photo, where the background is blurred and the foreground is clear.

Pros: excellent shading, good texture on the woman. Especially for watercolour. =)
Cons: the sky. The angle of the woman, and thus the proportions, seems a little off as well. At first glance, anyway. Her head is turned too far past her shoulders, even though they're hunched.

Thank you. :D
Yeah, I realized this about her head/shoulder and her hand too. But I was too far in to change it, like I could with digital art. DX

What, are you kidding?!

This is freaking amazing! Damn you to the infernal depths of Hell for being better than me!

kashidoodles responds:

XD Thank you very much, I'll take that as a compliment.
And don't worry about it, practice and patience, and you'll get where you want to be. :3
Good luck! ^^
