Inktober2019 Day3 - Bait

Dount Bait is my entry for Inktober2019, Bait!

This one was by far was beyond fun to illustrate! The man, at first wasn't going to have a fishing pole but as soon as I began to ink it in, it hit me. So the result is what you see. The fish of course is the best character and is so cute! I'd love to hear your thought about it so leave a comment!

Donuts anyone?

Oooh, nice switch up with the background color in this one! And seemingly so much more detail with the shading/texture, both the crosses and lines. Gnarly trees reaching up into the blackness, the landscape in itself a detailed mastery... and then there's the fish fishing for humans. XD lmao! Definitely my favorite so far.

I really love the detail level here too, and the bulrush/cattail/typha? (Google translating kaveldun here - whatever you call that grass by the water).

If there's anything to improve I feel like the splash comes across a bit simple/textureless compared to the rest, but not sure how I'd draw that in a good way. Maybe darker water...? Nice one.

And yes please! A donut would be great right now.

*gives donut* XD
This is one my favorites too and my excitement to get this idea done and finished is what helped did it done in such little time.
The idea of the fish fishing for humans was like the perfect example of revenge lol to bad there wasn't a theme that was revenge, I bet this wouldn't been just as great as bait theme. The cattails were a great touch to help set the scene. I glad that you like it. I saw in your favorites when I was on your page.
Thank you.
