Newgrounds Background Image Theme

retro robot day poster

Share

so i wanted to sneak another robot day picture into the contest paying a homage to the guy who first got me interested in robots as a kid. it was all about astroboy when i was growing up. what is totally awesome is that i still read tezuka stuff now. his older audience stuff is really intense and has a pile of great stories.

i felt i needed to pay an homage to tezuka with this retro robot day poster! so here we have a galactic fencing robot riding his trusty motor-steed against the background of some classic newgroundian fanfare!

happy robot-day everyone!

whooooa

I'm so so jealous. You reviewed a art piece of mine previously. I'm always amazed by the art work of the people who review me. Lol makes me want to work harder. Your coloring is simply perfect. This would be a great poster to have.

WOOOOOOOOOOAH!

Very Tezuka! Plus you caught the quintessential "metro" feel of the 40's-50's. My god is that a beautiful drawing....Peace man!

jouste responds:

hey thanks!

i was really trying to get that feel in the background. i'm not very good at backgrounds in general so it's good to hear you liked it!
