Hey! To start this decade right, we believe Newgrounds should be ad-free for EVERYONE. For this to work, we need people who have the means to become paying supporters. For just $3 per month or $25 for the year, you can help this happen and get some nice perks!

For the month of January we have disabled ads on all E-M content. We need 164 people to reach our January goal of 3,000 active supporters. If we hit that, we'll continue with a new goal in February!

knothead of the darkwoode 2019

I always gotta revisit my favorite treeman-treeslayer Knothead of the Darkwoode! Only he could possibly know the best places to hit trees! Making him the most savage and heartless lumberjack of all!

Just did a quick character shot. I like how his goofy head close up turned out, and my squirrel game ain't to bad!

appreciate the high score and comments!

how'd you get that slight hazy effect on this piece? it's lovely

jouste responds:

if you are using photoshop. copy your final layer and put it on the top, then go Filter-->Diffuse (normal is fine) then go Filter---> Gaussian Blur with a radius of about 1.5 pixels. set that to screen and knock it back or make it the base. THEN make a copy on top, make that a gaussian blur of about 15 pixels, and make that overlay or hard light or w/e. play around with the layer settings!

hope that helps. thanks for the high score!
