hardcore but unfinished
by the look of it wit was done with a mechanical pen, and you managed to get all that criss-crossing without messin around,....i wish i could do that...=.=
Grrrrreat job with the light/dark tones, the only thing that bug me is that you seem to have started an abstract patterned background, but it look unfinished
and the other nice effect of this picture, its that its a kind of art that transmit a message, your character seem to be high on weed and having a nasty bad tripp, the symbols transmit the emtion through the picturem this , though looking unfinished, this art show more than just some character oriented illustration, its a real scene wit emotions and ambience, a message have been delivered on the surface of that sheet of paper.
I love the hatching and cross hatching, a very well done job their sir! The detail in the face is very very well done as well as the perspective of the torso. I could go on and on,but to sum it up..........GREAT JOB!!!!!
Gonna give it a shot.
The black and white, chaotic art you choose to share is always hard to interpret, but always the most fun.
First I notice the huge almost "gang tattoo" in the back left, so I'll get to that later.
But obviously the man has his ripped out eyes in his hand, a gun in another, a syringe in his pocket, and a cigarette in his mouth.
This and the fact his cap is on backwards in the "gang style", as well as the fact that a crowd of gas-masked individuals are stealthily fueling his destructive habits on the side, i.e. handing him a cigarette, (with a stealthily placed X on it, implying a poison of some sort, and rightfully so.).
All in all I wonder if this is yet another personal piece of your life, i.e. destruction versus growth, i.e. struggle with the world and it's addictions. The fact that your subject "refuses to see" and embraces every bad part of gang violence, with his entire face decaying, as the drug dealers and "friends" just supply his destructive behavior on the side with a "gas mask" so they can remain untouched by him.
All in all, very sad, but one of your deepest works.
Everything looks sort of realistic, in an absract way (IE the face) and is very well drawn. I think it looks cooler without colour, but the shading makes it seem like you lost interest and decided to finish it quickly. Still very good though.
