Author Comments

Made especially for my mother in law, for her birthday tomorrow.

The process:
1. obtained white canvas and drew pink and blue spirals with water color markers.

2. added droplets of water to each spiral and just let the water mix with the paint and dry naturally in whatever pattern it chose.

3. did some more paint layering, wetting, and then drying-- the whole process took about 2 days until it looked how I wanted it to.

4. took various thickness of felt markers and drew the bird on top of the dried painting.

5. Tada! *jazzhands* <--- essential to the process

6. I don't know how many of you actually read my author's notes. If you do or don't, I don't really care.... it's more for my amusement than anything. If you enjoyed what I wrote-- then that is just lovely! :-)

7. Take away the paint, and it's just a black penned drawing on a blank white canvas...
*nod towards my earlier work*

All in all, the watercolor canvas work has been a wonderful dive into the unknown with flourishing results. I love colors, the rainbow and tye-dye, so this experiment thus far has been a great success.
