My illustration entry for the 2020 Music Inspired Art Contest, inspired by Shufflehound's Jolly Good Show:

For this contest, I figured going for a mockup album art would be ideal because I have plenty of experience making this type of artwork. Finding a music track I'd be comfortable with was a little difficult, though, but eventually I found the track above. Jazz fusion is one of my favorite music genres and had a lot of impact in my music interests when I was younger, so I really wanted to work hard on this illustration. For the setting itself, a fair amount of jazz fusion albums had urban environments as their album artwork (especially Japanese ones), so I used those along with my trip experience at the Las Vegas strip as inspiration for drawing this.

Although I'm satisfied with how this turned out, I really wished I had more time to work on it because I recently got a full-time job that has been physically exhausting. It really cuts into the time and effort I can give into doing this.

Wow, awesome job!

I can tell you really poured in a lot of time and effort into this. Rendering endless details in a modern city-scape can be so time consuming and cumbersome, but it's a necessary sacrifice to really capture the hustle and bustle energy of the Las Vegas Strip. The music really fits nicely with this piece, and I appreciate all of the tiny little details.

Keep up the good work!

This contest's a cool concept and I can definitely see the parallels in how this looks like the tune sounds. Lovely job!
