I desired dragons with a profound desire. Of course, I in my timid body did not wish to have them in the neighborhood. But the world that contained even the imagination of Fáfnir was richer and more beautiful, at whatever the cost of peril." -J.R.R Tolkien

Fun fact about quotes, they are sometimes attributed to the wrong person. As I was trying to find an exact quote from Tolkien I heard in a video, I discovered (at least accordingly to an article) that this particular quote wasn't from him. So I suppose Tolkien didn't said "It simply isn't an adventure worth telling if there are no dragons".

I love drawing fantastical beast. I can do whatever I want with the features and body. It is amazing to play with shape. And the definition that we have for a "dragon" is so vague that you can basically do anything.
It can have feather scale fur or be two legged, quadruped. You can even drop the wings if you want to. Add some ears, remove the scale and the wings and you have everything but a fire-breathing winged reptile. But you can still call it a dragon and that's good.
I know I am speaking of making original and weird "dragons" but I'm not doing it. But there is good to be found in the simpler designs.

I hope you like the artwork, don't hesitate too leave your comments and have a nice day !

(PS : this is an older artwork I didn't posted yet on newground)
