Uruk Love

Author Comments

As soon as I saw this month's challenge I've been working on it, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy are (in my opinion) the best movies ever made. Harry Potter is one of my favorites too.

In this drawing I depicted a love story between Lurtz (the Uruk-Hai leader in Lord of the Rings) and Murcus (Mermaid of the Black Lake, seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire)

Update (March 21 2017)
I've added a little bit more detail, and also drew some pixies, to give the piece a more magical feeling.

Amazing. Just love the subtle tone used in your art. I wish I could draw like you. Cheers.

Thank you!! :D

Wonderful piece, I love the idea and the interpretation is awesome. I think the hair and faces need a bit of work and the water could use a bit more movement. The use of color is spot on and the texture in the mermaid skin is great. Keep in mind you still have the better part of a month to work on it. Good luck and great job!!

Thanks a lot for the advice, I shall see what I can do. You're right it's still early ^^

love the monotones throughout the piece gives an amazing glow to it. have you thought maby adding a sillhuet of hogwarts castle in the background, i think that would look amazing, like just move the charactors to the left side third and have the castle in the distance in the upper right third, just a suggestion, its still better than mine good job :D

Thank you! I was thinking the same when finishing up the piece, I've tried multiple times to add a vague silhouette in the background, but it just didn't work out well. But thanks for the advice though :D
