For as long as the Multiverse has existed, it was under the watch of Palutena, Goddess of Light. She trusted Angels to protect mortals from vile forces beyond their comprehension. There were, however, a strange variant of Angels that showed up without her creating them. These Angels were cooperative and happy to work with Palutena and her Angels, but they didn't answer to her, and attempts to ask who they work for end without an answer. These Angels were hybrids, Dragons mixed with crocodiles, lions, and serpents, with rainbow-colored wings and a mesmerizing presence. Palutena decided to dub them Chalkydri, after an Angelic Dragon chronicled by mortals, something these strange Angels adopted as their people's title.

     Their origins were a mystery, but they made their purpose clear, they were all about bringing "new days" to mortal's lives. In other words, they set them down paths to a positive change or a destiny of sorts. One of the oldest Chalkydri to show up in the Multiverse was Kalei, who currently leads a trio of Chalkydri in their duties. Kalei is the oldest in an open marriage of these three Chalkydri, having married Val a long time ago, and married Bev about 50 years or so before present day. Despite her thin form, she's the muscle of the three, strong enough to suplex a mountain.

   Despite her unearthly strength and boyish appearance, Kalei is easy-going and ready to make friends. Like the rest of her brethren, Kalei really enjoys her job, viewing hypnotizing people as a sign of kindness, and she isn't quite sure how people live without a swirl of colors in their mind. It'd be foolish to make an enemy of her though, as Chalkydri are merciful to people in all forms, but someone far beyond redemption who decides to harm an innocent in front of them, especially in front of Kalei, is more likely to just become a snack. Kalei has, at times, gotten herself revealed to understanding mortals, but she's still managed to change the fates of quite a few worlds, even if she needs to borrow someone's identity to do it.

Kalei Chalkydri Facts

• You may notice that Kalei got a slight tweak from her original character sheet, namely a few color touch-ups like the reflection on her gem or her purple tongue and blush. Her wings (and by extension the other Chalkydri's wings) are also tweaked to sport the colors of said Chalkydri's hair, rather than all the colors of the rainbow. In this case, Kalei's wings are cyan, blue, indigo, and purple. This was done because it looks pleasing and adds a bit more variety, although all Chalkydri can just change their colors at will. I guess they each just have personal preferences.
• Kalei, like all Chalkydri, can manipulate the size and shape of her wings, even detatching them to form into weapons. Kalei prefers an axe. Such dexterity and flexability was inspired by how Morrigan and Lilith Aensland manipulate their wings. Ironic since Morrigan's a Demon and Kalei's a...well, you know.
• They can also manipulate the rest of their bodies, taking on features of dragons, serpents, lions, and crocodiles, or just change their humanoid shape. As you can see on the left, without tweaking her appearance, Kalei has much longer hair and a slightly bigger chest. It's tough to tell in my art-style, but physically, Kalei has the body of someone in their 20's. Her actual age is way more than that, even if she doesn't act like it.
• Kalei has a thing for crossdressing. She's taken up tasks that involve borrowing the identities of people like Aladdin and Garfield Logan. She makes it a point to "talk it out" with the actual people before she pretends to be them. By that, I mean she hypnotized them and asked if she could borrow their style for something.
• Like all Chalkydri, Kalei believes love is stronger than anything. Outside of Val and Bev, she's had crushes on Hercules, Nightwing, Rapunzel, and Samus Aran.
• Love languages are an actual thing, and Kalei's is physical touch. She's a hugger, with both arms and wings. She's prone to headpats as well.
• Kalei eats meat (and certain other foods) by tearing off pieces with her teeth, similar to how lions eat their meat. This isn't a thing all Chalkydri do, though Spike and Mux, two of Bev's children, picked up the habit from her.
• Due to her age, Kalei has quite a history in the Multiverse. She actually met a previous incarnation of Link, and hypnotized him. She did the same thing when she met a later incarnation. Then another one. And another one. And another one. One wonders if the current Link has some kind of hazy memory of all this.
• Kalei's favorite food is beef, and her favorite beverage is root beer.
• Her favorite movie is Hercules, and her favorite video game is, of all things, Alternate Watch. Ya know, given that they primarily target powerless humans, if the Alternates in the Multiverse were more like their canon depiction and less like this, I think the Angels and Chalkydri would cause them quite a lot of grief. I think because I don't know how strong they canonically are, but if humans can mess up their transformations...Kalei especially would give them a harsh fight since she's among the physically strongest of her kind. On the flipside, if she decided to take a note out of their book and tried impersonating Cesar, I feel like Mark would see through it since he had enough willpower to last three days being haunted by Alternates, more than most people can. In the very least, he would notice his best friend suddenly looks and sounds like a girl, has red eyes, and fangs.
