Samus vs Space Pirates!

Share

I, love, Metroid Prime. It's a game that even today is remarkable for the details they added to the game to make it more immersive. Rain drops bouncing off your arm cannon, steam fogging your visor, bright explosions reflecting Samus's face to the player, the thermal visor showing actual thermal differences in objects in the world and of course the X-Ray visor showing her limbs in her armor- including different hand positions to activate her different beams!

GOD it's such a fantastic game. The 35th anniversary is coming up this year and I wanted to celebrate it somehow so I went overboard with this fanart piece. Samus taking on Space Pirates with her different beam guns. One getting Plasma'd to death, Wave beam-tazered and someone off camera getting ice-spreadder'd to the everything!

I recently did a playthrough on stream with keyboard & mouse controls added in and it was super fun. I really hope Nintendo has SOMETHING for us Metroid fans as we typically are waiting years between games. I do look forward to the next game by Retro Studios, they usually do great work.

More great, dramatic lighting! The composition is good, too!
