Samus! From the Metroid series, she never did learn how to crawl, apparently.
I ran into this series either with Prime or Fusion first and have been enjoying many of the entries in the series. My favorite 2D one might be Zero Mission, between the gameplay feel, the music, the crazy things they added & just the love & attention to it is astounding. Prime 1 might be my favorite 3D one, it's quite great and really immerses you in the world.
I wish they used her earlier suit designs more often and not the Other M one, but, they did make that look better in Smash so I guess it gets a pass :P
