Facial Expression

Author Comments

Meh... I was working on a page of the comicbook and one panel turned out to have a better facial expression.

Irianne Cctelie the Guiseon, usually grumpy finally breaks a smile.

The texture's really cool, particularly the hair. The stark contrast between the grey and red makes for an interesting piece. The facial proportions could be improved though as well creating more depth to the face.

not bad at all man, like how you did the hair.

Galejro responds:

I'm a reject in a sense. I can't draw photorealistic unless I do it from a photo, and I hate the cheesy style of anime/manga. So I figured out a hybrid style. That includes more believable hair than grass stalks, believable scale eyes and believable wide necks... Buuut I still can't force myself to make believable small tits XD

The color pallete of the piece really gives the whole thing a nice "noir" feel to it, which I like. The facial expression, despite it only being a caricature, looks a little wonky and could be tweaked a bit. The piece could've also greatly benefited from some shading, but at the end of the day, you did a pretty neat job. Keep up the good work and be sure to check out my art as well!

Galejro responds:

All the time I try to improve the style. Most recently I upgrated my sky and cloud drawing by pushing it to fully digital realm while adding bloom lighting, the effects are... neat. http://galejro.deviantart.com/art/Rusalka-Pg-2-555102853 http://galejro.deviantart.com/art/New-Night-Sky-Test-555466317
