To celebrate Okamiden being a reality for the DS, I made a picture using only Gimp.
I have no idea what possessed me to draw this, let alone draw a ferret brush god, but I think it came out well and I hope all the Okami fans will enjoy it.
If you are not an Okami fan, may flashcard save your soul.

This will be completely biased yet attempt to point out the flaws. The word "touzoku" means "thief" in Japanese.

-Smudging effect on the fur
-Swirls on the shoulder-things
-Ears (Probably my favorite part)
-The grass
-The tailâEUTMs ink-dipped effect

-The lack of an actual background, which I can understand, but it looks sort of plain
-The pink and green do not really mix
-The lack of deviation from the standard Okami or small brush gods- sort of looks like a tube fox and Ammy had a major head-on-collision

HOWEVER, I think this is one of your best pictures, if not second-best (The best being your self-portrait) It is pretty simple, yes, but the proportions are nice and it really has the art style of the actual game, so its near-perfect fanart.
Good job =D

Flashcard-Man responds:

That's funny "tube fox and Ammy had a major head on collision". But doesn't a normal ferret look like a tube fox? And honestly who doesn't like a cute and small mammal with magical powers. Think Pikachu. Also, most of the gods are small and cute, so I was following the theme. Also, I still don't see how the green and pink do not mix.
