Madness Day 2011

Happy Madness Day!

EDIT: Lol Frontpage. Thanks Tom! :3 I also have version of this that fits the poster specifications just in case it gets a chance.

Interesting composition

I like the strong triangle composition, color pallet and some of textures you you have used here. However, I think you could have varied the textures a little bit more to show difference in material. A little bit of forced atmospheric perspective would also have helped added some depth to your piece as well as separate and define the characters. Lastly, while this may be nit picking you do have some tangents in several areas which causes a few visual problems, but this is often a problem with complex compositions.

Yeah, you've pretty much summed up my mistakes right there. I'd like to say thank you for spotting them for me, as I can improve better knowing the mistakes I've committed. The characters do seem to look quite awkward at some parts, especially the zombies. I'm having difficulty myself telling them apart. It's not really nitpicking about the tangents since I basically screw some parts up lol.

This is some great quality madness art I love how you made Hank, Trickey, and the zombies. Great detail you put into those characters. I like the idea of putting them in a position where one is over the other but to me it seems a bit cliche. Just seems like it needs a touch of originality like an exciting background or something to make it more exciting. Could use improvement but really good. Happy Madness Day!

You sure have my vote!

Unless somebody submits something epic soon ...

... it's going to be either you are Rhunyc who takes all the moneys.
Aamzing work, both with the original pencil drawing and the painting underneath. You could probably submit your Tricky the Clown by itself, and take a prize for his sheer dynamism.

Some of the foreshortening on Hank's and Tricky's right arm is a bit queer; even though you're covering up the forearm and elbow behind the hands, I feel they look misplaced, and can only be posed like that if they had several extra joints in the shoulder. Also the text in the top left corner: bleuch!

Thanks for the crit turkey. :3 I'm sure I'll make it better. I'm just happy I was able to submit something this time.

Who would know that a picture could be so epic! :)
