This was a dyptic piece I did for my Painting II class. It was done entirely with spray paint except the background colors (the brown in the Jesus piece and the Grey in the JFK piece is Acrylic). Each piece is 20 inches by 40 inches. I was experimenting with stencils and layering, so the first image in each row (jesus / jfk) has essentially 3 stencils, the middle has 4, and the last has 2... but that's not counting the outlined stencil I had to use to get the red / blue around the image. These two pieces took me a while to do, the cutting out of each stencil was the longest process. I went online and found the images I used (except for the cross) and did a paper cutout effect on Photoshop then projected the image onto bristol board and outlined each layer (so yes, I bought about 20 or so pieces of bristol board by the end of this project) then cut it out. The meaning behind this was derived from a joke by the late comedian Bill Hicks where he references the fact that Christians always sport the cross, which is like going to up Jackie Kennedy with a sniper rifle pinned to your jacket or hung on your neck.

Cool

I just wanted to leave a comment to let you know that I used your art for a school presentation, and that I linked this art and your account in the presentation. I also have your name written out so they can read it

Excellent

This is a fantastic piece of art you made there. Great contrast and stuff there.
I would prolly make Jesus have the blue background, but maybe that also has a deeper meaning.

Awesome, keep it up.

Failment responds:

Thanks! With the background color I was trying to go with the red for the bloodshed with Jesus, and I didn't want to use red again with JFK so I used blue to signify the sky since it was such a bright blue day when he was killed. Then again... I could have just made that up later after I chose the color scheme :P

Great work.

I like the contrast of colors and shades. Very interesting, and I also like the story like qualities of the picture.

Keep up the good work. Scouted you, so I'm expecting you to follow the rules and to continue doing great work.

Good luck!
