Escapetale Gaster will be seen as a Monster with an intent of evil, they will be responsible for the specific danger that the Protagonist faces, but there is some good side to this. Gasters' voice does indeed echo off the walls in more of a guide to things that the protagonist needs to see. Gaster is working alongside Asgore. The two have the intention of both wanting their soul for the wrong power.

In chapters eleven, Gaster makes an appearance at the end of the Ruins where Toriel was seen alone after Nick had left once again. Gaster simply taunting Toriel, making them believe things that aren't true, kind of like thought manipulation which can be seriously harm to your mindset, possibly might even kill you.

Gaster is seen as a forgotten Monster only remembered by a few, San's and Papyrus, because it explains in the story that Gaster is their father, in the backstory of Chapter 08 A Dreadful unforgotten time, there was a moment where Sans had looked at a photo with Gaster, Papyrus and Himself.

Gaster is able to send you into a darkened void whenever he opens his cloak, it's kind of like a portal between space and time between different universes., there in the void would you fight?
