I occasionally see advertisements of women’s bath products and I thought it would be fun to parody this. I gotta say, this was a fun project.
Right off the bat, I knew I wanted Anaal (Yeah that’s right, quote me). I’m surprised how quickly I managed to figure out an original logo design; took me around a day to ponder from start to finish. At first it was going to be “A’Naal,” a slight tip to “Re’Arden’s,” but I wasn’t too eager to repeat the spelling method, even though I’m fairly convinced at this point that single quotation marks can make anything fancy. Then I came up with the finished spelling “Anaal” but I didn’t really have a design at hand. But then it gradually came to me. All the letters were to be normal except the two A’s in the center, which would, by destiny, form the butt cheeks and the anus within the crossing of the letters. After that, however, the two letters decided the tone for the others. The N is a blanket shoved aside and the L is the phallic device.
The first A is nothing special. It’s just lonely.
Also, if you're wondering about the bottle design, yes that triangle is the gooch end of a vagina and the black circle is the open anus.
Goddamn do I love my brilliance!
I don’t really feel like giving out a layer breakdown this time. I only do that sort of thing if the layer setup is all kinds of convoluted. The most complex thing about this piece was the suds, and that was only a three-layer artifact consisting of a dotted white stream, a plain white stream, and a thinner grey underside--in that order--smacked together and touched up with the soft eraser.
Speaking of which, this project felt like an unspoken practical exam on drawing soaked skin. I really gave myself a chance to shine here. Or more precisely, a chance to make her shine, literally.
The project overall though looks just gorgeous. I’m surprised it took this long to make it, though thankfully it wasn’t as long as Elly’s more recent picture. All the same, I’m pretty sure my choice of thin line art was a major factor in how much time was consumed. Not only does it take longer to get that sort of line art drawn properly, but, as I would eventually come to notice, it also affects how much precision is demanded for all the filling elements (i.e. coloring, texture, lighting, shading, that kind of stuff). But despite the snowball effect, I have no regrets. The thin line art I feel complements the serious tone of the piece.
Really, if I were to--hypothetically of course--sell a product like this, I’d go with classy, yet affordable. Probably the $5-$6 range for 18 fluid ounces. It would acknowledge itself as a gag product while still paying respects to its own regal quality.
Dunno, it seems a bit asinine to boost prices for the sake of maintaining an image. I’m not necessarily criticizing those that do such--the buyers hardly ever seem unwitting--but as for me, I’d actually want my products to be enjoyed by more people.
Out of all the names I came up with, I think “Baker’s Choice” is the most enticing for me. When I came up with the scent name, I was envisioning a cross between a cinnamon roll and some cheesecake.
Anyways, to sweeten the deal, I’m tossing in some templates of the ad. Seemed like something you could have some fun with.

Peace, dudes.
Edit: Quickly swooped in and made "Still Meadows" darker. The lack of readability was really getting on my nerves. Also did a slight touchup to August's hair shine.
