Popular pop band 8&'s opening act is interrupted and indefinitely postponed when malfunctioning machines begin attacking venue attendees. Four notable units among the crowd get together to send out a distress signal and prevent further victims. Their call is answered by a four-person task force of government specialists, as well as an eccentric scientist and his hired mercenaries. Twelve units gather on this day to try to save as many civilians from broken machinery as they possibly can.
