violent encounter

Share

this is my entry for that violent encounter thing.
originally i had no idea on what to do and i was really wanting to make it really original in look so i thought of doing kevin costner from water world.
but instead i did this one.
i tried t make it appear very gritty and grindhouse like
proper hammer house style.
hope you like it!

EDIT: FRONT PAGED?! WOOOOOOOOOO! thanks guys!

very nice (as many people have said) I wish i could draw like that looks sick.

dommi-fresh responds:

hey thanks man i appreciate it.

whats ur secret?

I want to know the process. Do you start with a pencil sketch, then colour with markers or whatever, crumple the paper, scan it or simply take a picture?
Its a really interesting style, all moody and everything.

dommi-fresh responds:

i draw it in pencil really roughly to get the basic skeleton and pose of the characters then i pen in the lines and details then i go over the pen with a bold black pen/marker to do the really dark shadows then i colour it with water colours.
the crumbles paper effected is not as complex as it seems.
that is simply from where i was rubbing out (some not all) of the pencil i am rquite firm with the rubber and it creases the paper a little when i do it. then when i scan it in i edit it on iphoto or photoshope and just adjust the contrast shadows highlights saturation ect.ect.
hope that helps you if not message me and i will go into more detail for you.
