In the mortal world, Pauline Sanchez was a shy and unpopular student who wanted respect from other students and her own family. She was bullied nonstop and no one tried to help her the things that made her feel loved and safe are taken away by her horrible family.

One day, around school hours, Pauline was found dead with a smile carved on her face. And from what we know in the mortal world, once you're dead, everyone suddenly cares about you.

Now as a ghost under the name Polterlina Smiles, she serves as the keytarist and member of the Ghostly Redemption Club thanks to the god of death himself.
