Whelp, now I'm inspired to learn fractal art. Any good resources or guides on how to properly use the program? I have Apophysis 7x.
here are a few good ones.
remember, there is no proper way to use Apo to create fractal. Don't follow the rules, break them.
also, all Apo versions are about the same. Apo 7x is considered the most updated version with better rendering back-end and support. 3D hack is to emulate pseudo-3D render. And the original Apo is non-updated. (that's the power of FOSS)
My favorite piece by you yet. The clash of colors in contrast to the background is spectacular.
Thank you for your review!
A beautiful piece! Powerful colors, contrasts, and shapes in motion. Not sure what fractal art IS, but I assumed it involves shapes and repetitions. I feel fractal art gets a bad rep because a lot of people do similar things with filters or brushes, quickly, and spend no time polishing the piece and making sure everything fits together. Good design always comes across though, I believe, and it's much easier to align objects symmetrically, or in order, than it is to make order out of chaos like this. It's a bit like nature. Structured disorder. It's hard to mimic.
Fractal is a set of geometries arranged in self-similar structure. The biggest misconception of fractal is it is chaotic and not structural. This is wrong because fractal is the combination of both. Fractal mathematics cannot be described with conventional math because it doesn't work that way. You can use basic geometries to explain certain set of shape, but not everything. Benoit Mandelbrot has given the world the greatest gift of understanding the nature. Fractal itself.
Understanding how fractals work could strongly humiliate our understanding of nature. Because fractal itself, IS the language of nature. Humans don't invent art or create fractal, we just rediscover them. Nature provides us the constants that help us understand how things work, the things that already in place.
Thank you for your thought-provoking review, as usual. I really enjoy reading them. :)
Like all those folks that say electronic music takes no effort to make.
Anything that takes a lot of effort, skill, and time to make can be considered of having artistic value. From noise to the freaking Requiem mass, there are so many "languages" involved in the process...
Anyways, end of rant, I love your fractals. <3
I remember the conversation we had a while ago about art. I wholeheartedly agree that anything could be describe as art. Art is the expression of human's feeling to channel and to transcend the unspoken language between each other. That conversation really inspired me to look through things the way that I haven't done much before.
Thank you for this inspiration.
