The Pool of Liquid Light

Share

I haven't drawn much in the past few months so I decided to make something new. It took about 6 hours in Photoshop.

Back Story:
This is Skirnen, the Butterfly Opinicus. And as his entire world is based around the many forms of man-made magic, he is comforted by one very natural magic: The Pool of Liquid Light. The water here is a glowing wonder and is known to be the purest and sweetest water found anywhere. Skirnen, as well as many others of his kind, are benefited by the magic effects of this water simply because it enhances the wonderful colors of their butterfly-shaped wings.

I have more artwork shown on DeviantArt, anyone interested may find me on there as well. http://snail-city.deviant art.com/

you DESURVE 5 stars

Iv had a look at your other art and by far this is my personal fav
- the only problem i have with this is the green splodge that cuts off in the trees in the bg :/

The green ground?

Very good drawing. And especially good job on the feathers. The creature reminds me of those giant birds the flying elves used to fly on in Elfquest.

Tektyx responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I've never played Elfquest before but I can imagine that it would be similar because this drawing isn't the most unique creature since it's practically a Gryphon.

Fantastic piece. I am by no means an artist or art expert but in my opinion, you did a fantastic job with the lighting, though the paws look a little off and so does the lower jaw. Other than those things, this is an excellent work of art.

Tektyx responds:

Thanks for the compliment and critique, I see now how the jaw looks a bit off, but I really wanted to draw him taking a drink. Best thing to do I guess is work on it next time I need to :)
