This creature used to be a faithful companion to a pirate in the late 1600s. Azurut is his true name, but on the ship, he was simply known as Ashy for his odd coloring. One day, several weeks out at sea after a stop in Savannah, Georgia, a massive and devastating maelstrom sucked the ship toward it and they were unable to escape. Azurut was the only survivor because he managed to climb into a barrel and seal it tight.
Somehow, after the initial shock of what happened, he realized he was a castaway lost at sea, just floating in a barrel. He is a creature capable of hibernation, and decided to sleep until he washed up on land. This was a brilliant idea, but he discovered he had finally washed up on shore nearly 400 years later.
He landed in Mobile Bay in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He was shocked to see all these strange things that he never imagined such as cars, power lines, and motor boats. But above all, he also seems a little forlorn; Perhaps he's simply incredulous. He woke up in an alien world and he will never return the pirates life. He struggled to leave behind the vast waters, but he's finally ready to adjust to a new life in a new place.
I tried my hand at another creature doll. This guy was super fun and I also really wanted a picture of the beach for one of my creatures before I leave the ocean for college.
This will be my last personal doll. After this, I will start to put them up for sale. I'd love some thoughts on my creature and would greatly appreciate constructive feedback. =)
