AMAZING!
For this challenge of the month I wanted to depict a young Spring and her first encounter with Fall. Spring, being also a time of renewal and rebirth in nature, is a young girl with her classic crown of flowers that have however began to wilt as she spends more time in this Autumnal forest. I wanted to try to portray her uneasiness at the realization that all life comes to an end as she sees her very crown begin to fall apart.
I feel the gray of the pencil further reinforces the gloominess of the setting.
Hope you guys like it. :)

I drew this piece with an H lead and a stubby black Col-Erase pencil. I am probably headed to art jail tho for having done it on regular printer paper :P
Sketches and studies:

(compiled from several pages) At first she was too mature, then I didnt like her expression and face, finally after some more studies I found the right pose and face.
AMAZING!
Aw shucks! You are! ;D thanks for taking the time :)
That's amazing, love the shading, details, and originality! And that bunny, of course.
Oh wow, thanks! And the bunny thanks you too :D
Awsome DRawing, i loved it if it was in colors or more contrast. But i really like the Faceexpression...its chilling and spooks me out :D Good Luck at this COTM
Thanks, it is rather High Key...I did my best after scanning it to balance the brightness and contrast. But I guess the original was rather light handed. I wanted to have contrast mostly on her eyes to further draw the viewers attention :)
I love how a black and white drawing can still be so expressive. This really is a great drawing, could be right out of a storybook.
Thank you very much! The storybook look is what I was going for :)
The expression must be the highlight of this piece. I also love the little details like the texture of the tree bark, the different shape of the fallen leaves and the cuteness of the animals. Great!
As you can see from my sketches (linked in the description) I did focus on trying to find a quirky and unusual expression. Im glad you liked it! :)
