Another addition to my animal series. This one isn't quite complete, but i think it's ready enough for showing around.

Trying something a little different here. Very sharp and stylised for the face of the cat - as it is in focus - but becoming more loose and painterly as the focus recedes. I think this mix of styles and techniques kinda works and makes the painting a little more interesting : )

I really like your animal series! It looks really different from your other work but i really love it! Maybe you want to keep the style of drawing for other categories too? :D

Clootie responds:

Hi and thanks for your really nice comments and suggestions : )

I must admit, I had no plans initially to do an animal series, but I seem to be on this crazy train that just keeps going lol

I've got another 4 or 5 on the go as we speak! I hope you'll like them when they're finished.

As you suggest, I will keep up this style now for many things. I have plans to do many many series on everything from landscapes and shots of Earth from space to scare-crows and fruit bowls!

So by all means stay tuned if you like the sound of that - I'll bring you lots more : )

Very smooth !

Clootie responds:

Thanks : )

You mean the colour blending parts? If you use Photoshop, just put your brush 'flow' percentage really low, then just layer and layer your brush strokes.

This is beautiful! I wish I could paint like this! I'd paint the shit out of my cats! :D

Clootie responds:

haha, then by all means practice away! You painting the shit out of your cats as you say, would be nice to see! Maybe we could compare cats! lol sorry...maybe I'm taking it too far : )

Thanks for your generous compliments!

If you are interested in painting like this, it may surprise you to know that I've only been painting like this for a few weeks. I hadn't attempted it before! If I can do this, so can you : )

I'd be more than happy to provide you a number of youtube links from digital artists I have been studying lately. Their tips have done wonders for me!
