Happy Birthday, Mr. Lambert!

A birthday card I made for my best friend. He is a huuuge Breaking Bad fan and was insanely happy about the card which in turn made me insanely happy as well :D

The card consists of 18 parts which I cut out from wood using a fretsaw. After sanding the parts I painted them with acrylic color, waited for the color to dry and glued the parts together.
In the final step I added some details on the bacon stripes and the edge of the plate. 'twas a really fun work. Took me about 6 hours starting from the sketching board.

Before reading your comment, I thought this as a painting that highly resembles a product of crafting in real life. Yet it seems it's actually made out of wood and painted. So now my brain is very confused as to what to make of the photo of the art that resembles but is not a painting of a real life object.

I don't know if it's intentional, but the textures of the wall, the lighting, the acrylic on the card, all of them match so well to create the aforementioned effect. The composition is just stunning!

Are you sure you didn't paint this on a canvas? xD

Drynosed responds:

Best thanks for your comment! :)
I think, the "painted on canvas effect" comes from the not-so-well-quality of my camera :D I'm far from being able to paint on such a realistic level xD
But I actually intended to show nothing but wood and paint in this picture so that the hand-crafted impression strengthens when you look at it.

Got another view of the card, if you care: http://fav.me/dbv18l1

Cheers!
