An old sketch of a salamander left mostly unfinished from the days I mostly spent drawing creature designs when I fist started posting my art online, I think this sketch was done late 2018. I moved away from drawing lore critters in recently but I do think the practice of drawing such creatures can help beginning artist test their creativity when add their own flare and features to the creatures their drawing.

In many of lore featuring a salamander they have an affinity with fire so I drew one with a flame tongue sticking out since lizards can smell with their tongues, I even added a smaller flame exhaling out of his nose to indicate he's done sniffing. I also added a huge flame on his back like the elongated spikes seen on an Iguana and some other lizards.
