Another game from the Windows 95 era, this one, like many, I only had a demo of as a kid, and did not play the full version until relatively recently after I learned how to setup a virtual machine. We're talking installing windows from a bootleg image file, setting IRQ ports, formating virtual hard drives, mounting ISOs that sometimes I could only get from the Internet Archive, the works. I even got Tie Fighter to work!
Fury3 was a 1995 arcade-ish flight action shooter with gameplay somewhat similar to that of Descent or Radix: Beyond the Void, but considerably scaled back in complexity and tactical depth, at least compared to Descent. However, it also had large, open-air levels as well as underground tunnels. It also had a pretty decent soundtrack. It was preceeded by Terminal Velocity for DOS, essentially the same game with different levels and enemies, and followed by a direct sequel for Windows 95 called Hellbender, that featured more seamless transitions between above-and-underground areas and full voiceover.
