While little is known of Sammy’s origin, a lot has been cautiously discovered about his current status. Sammy has been kept within chains by the Salvationers, a cult started around the belief that Hell’s breach into Earth could be a sign of an alternative to rapture, and a true escape from the current state of the world. On most nights after Bingo games, they release him into a makeshift arena filled with heretics of their religion, as well as any demons they can scrounge up, to watch for sport. This branch of the cult believes that if they weaken Sammy enough, he will eventually cave in and tell of a possible path to Hell. Sammy, however, is blinded by his rage, and only sputters nearly incomprehensible insults towards their actions.
