The thunder rolls and the lightning strikes,
Another love grows cold on a sleepless night.
As the storm blows on and out of control,
Deep in her heart, the thunder rolls.
--- Garth Brooks
Even the mighty Giganotosaurus, lord of the Middle Cretaceous savanna, has reason to fear the rolling thunder and the strike of lightning. Not only is a big guy like him an obvious lightning rod on the open plains, but it's not hard at all to start a brush fire in the hothouse Mesozoic world. So even the mightiest beasts are but weaklings in the face of nature's inorganic wrath.
