Castle Crashing the Apple

Share

Unfortunately, I don't have access to a pumpkin this year, so I can't carve out anything cool, or anything for the pumpkin carving contest.
But, I did have an apple and I attempted some carving with that instead.
I went for a 3D carving, so I shaved the apple down to form the structure and shape of the castle crasher. I wasn't sure which shot was better, so I combined them into one.

Just the idea itself is amazing.

Hey Son!

You shouldn't play with your food! Haha

bigjonny13 responds:

I can't help myself, it's fun.

Too cool!

I really like this! Apple carving, what a creative idea. Plus, it looks good too. The only thing I'd suggest it to make the top of his head more defined, it just sorta curves back. Other than that, nice job.

bigjonny13 responds:

I was gonna full out carve it into the head, but I didn't have enough time. Thanks for the critique.

How...?

Did you use your teeth or a knife? Impressive either way. I would like to see what else could be made from an apple (most artists these days will go with anything, even spit).

bigjonny13 responds:

It was a knife, just slowly shaved down the apple to get the form I was looking for.

Wow

This is hilarious! I was just talking about carving an apple over a pumpkin the other day...

Anyway, on the the review. This was really well done, exspecially for such a small medium! The shape of the castle crasher is very good.

Now, the question we've all been waiting for... Did it taste good?

bigjonny13 responds:

Hahaha, looks like I was faster on the decision.
Thanks for the appreciation, and yeah, the apple tasted pretty good, even after so much exposure to the air.
