A Day of Infamy

Author Comments

I really enjoyed making this piece. Although it has taken quite some time to get right.

Originally sketched in pencil, and coloured in photoshop, this is a depiction of a Japanese fight plane, having been shot. By using vivid colours, I tried to bring this piece to life.

I hope you enjoy it.

kamikaze desuka? :D

Wow, this is awesome. great job!

To the guy a few posts down, The figher is a Zero, but the American's Nickname/codename for it was Zeke.
Now, on to the art. this is just a great work. i loke how you incorperated the Japanese rising sun design into it. All in all the effect is very dramatic.

This looks like it could be a "loss" screen for the Japanese in a WW2 RTS game, lol.

I went through quite a few phases with this. The initial design was very 'pearl harbor', in that it was flying over water, and a battle ship had shot it out the sky.

Unfortunately, sometimes my designs change when I try to digitize them in Photoshop. So what you see is a simpler version, which as you said, is based on the rising sun.

It looked quite good so I made it part of the design.

Thanks for a great review ;)

what a great piece, Its not something to say I LOVE WORLD WAR 2!!, because there would be no enjoyment in any of that war and especially with the north american glamourization of the event, ESPECIALLY WITH MY/CURRENT GENERATION

I love the colors you went with ( its absolutely brilliant ) and the background and the blackened Zero standing out really adds to it. I really enjoy this piece, you took time and looks like alot of effort put into this

definetly earns a ten, you have a great talent with this

great job

Thank you, although the image I had in mind was to replicate a Zero. But I may have made some mistakes ;)
