Circle Shading Study

This is a shading test I did, on day 2 of starting with a drawing tab. I am a bit frustrated with the blending work. I used the palette knife to do the blending, maybe I should have used a different tool?
Made in Art Rage 5, using an XP-Pen Deco 1 tablet.
Thanks for any feedback! You all on the Art Portal inspired me to start learning digital painting.
