The Raksura: Chime the Ex-Mentor

Share

Part 3 of my Raksura design series.

Now we have Chime, one of the first Raksura to show any kindness to Moon when he first arrives at the Indigo Cloud court.

Chime has a very unique position in the court. He use to be a creature called an Arbora, a Raksura without wings. He was also a mentor, meaning he possessed the power to see visions of the future and was charged with keeping the records of the court's history. However, Indigo Cloud was going through some tough times. They were experiencing a severe lack of Aeriat (Raksura with wings) births. And one day, when Chime shifted, he was suddenly an Aeriat. The shortage of winged Raksura is believed to be the reason this change happened to him.
Of course, it hasn't been easy for Chime. Not only did he have to learn how to get used to his new body, but his role in the court completely changed from mentor to warrior.

Like Moon, Chime makes for a great friend, but is not as difficult to win over as Moon. He's pretty open to others and likes to be of use when he can. Despite his new position, he's still mostly familiar with matters that mentors deal with, and prefers to be involved this way. He gets very defensive and agitated whenever the fact of his situation (and particularly with his flying skills) is brought up. Even though he's not a pushover, he's not a great fighter, which has led to him being the point of mockery from a few select warriors (more on them later). What he lacks in great physical strength, he more than makes up for in brains and strategy. Whenever a plan is needed, Chime is usually the one to help refine ideas and provide helpful insight.
