Prawn's Day Out (old art)

Share

Anyone ever seen those remakes of old paintings where pop culture figures are placed in them? Of course you have!

While I don't know if there's a proper term for them, I made my own.

Based on an impressionism piece by Edouard Manet's "Plum Brandy", I just replaced the woman with an alien from District 9. I think it turned out kinda funny, especially if you've actually seen District 9. I just picture a prawn from before the persecution just trying to enjoy some cat food after a long day.

Made with oil pastels.

I mistook em for a suave praying mantis person. Regardless a good piece with a lot of detail and even some nods to culture and specific time period.

Armorwing responds:

lol, I guess you could call them that (I appreciate "suave").
