This is a mockup for a game that may be developed at some point maybe.
I am not an artist per-se, so this took me a lot of time to complete. Other than the filter I made these pixels by hand and it took a long time. My current goal is to get a working alpha going with the requisite action functions working, and seeing where I go from an art direction from there.
The file is animated as an APNG (so only firefox or chrome browsers will snimate) in order to show the idea I have for the noise filter; although that filter is just an automatic one from paint.net, I'll likely handcraft one to include scratches and so forth for the game resources itself. I haven't decided on the actual method of doing this from a programming perspective, although I have several ideas.
As far as the interface taking up half the screen area, since the pixels are scaled up eight times, I could easily either make the interface smaller or make it an overlay in order to give more vertical space for background. But since this was an interior area I didn't see the need to do that, though I might.
At any rate, I would appreciate any of your comments and critiques, so please post them. If I can I'll try to respond promptly to any questions, etc.
