Numel: Ground type
Camerupt: ground/water type
Numel were brought in from overseas. But environmental pressure from the dangerous native Eucalents made their fire typing a dangerous mix, causing them to lose their fire typing over time and becoming a pure ground type. When it rains, the empty kiln on it’s back fills with water.
In order to evolve they must be brought to a reasonably large source of clean fresh water, Ideally from a spring.
Once evolved, they have very few enemies in the region, as most pokemon in their environment are quick to consider them as friends due to them being a rare source of water in the desert, leading to them often having a very mellow temperament in comparison to their hoenn counterparts.
They are similarly well known for assisting trainers in crossing the deserts.
When not attacking, their water temperature doesn't rise above warm bathwater, but when threatened, they can fire scalding geysers of water.
