Kamen Rider Varanus (Lee Ping)

COMMISSION ARTWORK BY: RamenDriver

COMMISSIONED and IDEA BY: Yours truly

Finally visualized in this commission, I present to you a concept that has been brewing in my mind for a while by envisioning Lee Ping as a Kamen Rider. The premise is that A. Nigma High has been experimenting on the students, turning them into animal-based cyborgs that can be set on the loose whenever the Powers That Be choose. In order to set things right, Dr. Alfred Ping had taken a few of the Beast Drivers (transformation devices he initially invented for his higher-ups as means of creating field commanders for these menaces before the guilt got to him) to find any good-hearted individuals mixed up in all of this to subdue the unwitting monsters. And it just so happened that his son, Lee, fits that mold in addition to being the only student who was aware of what has been done to him (at least as far as they know).

With the Beast Driver, the DNA alterations made to Lee are instead manifested in the form of the Tazelwurm/Draconic-themed Kamen Rider Varanus. While he has the tried-&-true power over fire, Varanus has a power-copying mechanic in the left arm to incorporate other elements from other Riders, Rider-like villains, and potential Rider candidates. His signature weapon, Rengō Ryū Ken (Union Dragon Sword), is meant to channel the newly acquired power. Its sheath is attached to the wrist (so the sword can either be drawn the typical way or can be shot out like a mini-rocket) and can be used as a melee weapon, often by extending outwards.
