Max and the Good Bastards

Share

This is the "Good Bastards"/ GBs military force for the Loyalists in Qurie. There are a rotating section of members, but these are the reoccurring ones that Max usually gets paired up with for "tough" fights. Which usually involve them picking off women and children from the Raidie side of the fight. They are the most loyal and well trained of the Knight's Military.

I need to explain Qurie dogs for a moment. Dogs still exist as we know them in the world, but Qurie Dogs(TM) are cloned creatures that have been created with the soul purpose of being mini bombs. They have little man bodies so they're able to use and grip weapons like humans do, and are genetically designed to explode when their task is complete. Most soldiers don't use them anymore because they're unstable and expensive to make.

So starting on the left, is Spit, one of the 1st models of this genetically made mini soldier. He won't die until his quest is done and serves his master through till the end. Dogs(TM) have been mixed with a small amount of human DNA in them and so he has some awareness of language and intent, though still only bark or warble to speak. He was breed to be racist and will go after anything he thinks is a threat, unless his master tells him not to. Most Dogs(TM) now don't have his level of intelligence, which is why he hasn't exploded by accident yet.

Because I'm still not sure about the names yet, I will refer to the other characters as their code names:

The old man is "Speaker", he's a fairly good battle strategist and has all the maps memorized. He's one of the few surviving people who remembers the world from before the Big Bang, but if you were to ask him about it, he will make things up or pretend he doesn't know anything. Most people who speak nostalgically about the way things used to be get shot. He's old because he learned to just survive and stay under the radar. One of those old regulars that should've been fired long ago but shows up to do the work, so he still has a job.

"Dick Weasel" is not his name, but the suit with the tablet is one of the office clerks who Max runs into from time to time while serving with troupes, like the GBs. What is a 'dick weasel' you may ask? Max will explain to you that a dick weasel is a rodent that begs and pleads to be shoved down someone's pants so they can wiggle and nest in there, suckling on a dick like it's a bottle. What ever this guys name really is, he's just gonna be Dick Weasel to Max.

Max is our current Knight (the 7th) who wears the "I really wish I wasn't here right now" button.

Even "the Brut" is a model solider. Getting to know him from 1st glance a nice and helpful guy, doesn't want to rock the boat and follows orders. He's currently got the highest kill count of all the soldiers. Not the highest ever but he's the one with the most kills that's still alive. He's started his service under the 5th Knight, and made a name for himself while under the 6th Knight. Noone's really sure why Even never took the position of the Knight when it came up, but he noticed that most of the time, you're stuck doing publicity tasks and office work. He likes going out and killing Raidies too much to give that up for the throne.

The next highest kill count is "Bomber" behind "The Brut". He's got a very, don't look at me in the eyes sort of personality. He has missing leg, so he's stuck with "Speaker" behind the lines, controlling drone bomb drops. He was born during the first year of the bang and has no idea of what peace really is. If things weren't at war, he wouldn't know how to live.

Just dumping some quick concepts about some side characters. Also showing how Max is seen with the male side of the military he's supposed to be in charge of. I have to work on drawing a few of the female troops that he works with, because they respect him a lot differently then the male troops do. Even if these characters don't get used after this drawing, at least I created them for reference.

I like the dog. What's his name, and would love to see more of this cute mutt.

Annie-Mae responds:

Mentioned his name in the description and sad to say he's not a frequently reoccurring character. Also, how bold of you to like a racist.
