AC-A Dog's Town and Cooper Sr.

Share

Cooper Sr. is the guy they call when a town is going to the dumps. Between the Happy Homes Society neglect referrals, low village satisfaction ratings, mountains of debt and lack of up keep are only the peek of the issues he's seen so far. Worse off the one human here seems to just push the authorities buttons on purpose. There has never been a need for severe punishment in Animal Country, but deportation is a last resort (there for are sent to human jail where you belong).

Cooper's name is a bit of a mistake. Copper is the name of the Shiba Inu dog cop you have in the game, but I always pronounced it Cooper because of Booker. So he's still sort of a Senior police officer that's related to Copper, but I like the name Cooper, it's a mix between the two. I don't really want the NPC's to break character if I don't have too. While Copper is a very strong and steady guy, figure I can make him a bit gruffer of a character if I just make my own version of him.

The thing I noticed in AC, is that Dogs seem to hold a lot of power in the universe. There are many Wolves, Dogs, and Canines in charge. Nook is a Tanuki (even though he calls himself a racoon, he is not), and that is a Canine species as well. Villy sort of sees this and while they're all good dogs, he kinda feels left out because they still tend to push their power around. Goldie is not really a political figure, but Isabelle tends to ask for her help a lot, so she's unofficially apart of Isabelle's meetings.

The point I want to make with this comic is Villy feels left out and that higher ups tend to chase their tails too much. Likewise, Villy cannot become Mayor as long as the current Mayor still holds residence in the town...odd rules really.

This comic was done sometime in September 2016, I had a few bits I needed to clean up or finish drawing out the punchline. I did change a few of my original points, to at least not hit the nail on the head so bluntly. Wanted to leave the sides a bit more ambiguous, while not making any of the characters (cept maybe Villy) look inherently mean, or speak as an obvious allegory...Hopefully I achieved that...otherwise it's just a funny comic about a human ruled over by animals.
