Some people see this level as if its causing more pain than just any other level in the Super Mario Bros. game. Others see this level as simple due to having a simple goal, which was finding a warp zone and go to World 8 and doing that quickly is as fast as possible. The simple tip is to jump on a gap then stomp on a Goomba and keep jumping until you're on the lift, then jump off the lift to hit the brick block that makes the beanstalk which leads you to the warp zone. This level has a wrong warp glitch, alongside with World 8-4, which makes the entry point lead you somewhere else instead of the intended destination. There are several tips on doing this type of trick, but its a bit confusing to explain how, so watch Summoning Salt's video about this level to find out on how to do those tips.

This deviation was originally World 1-2 but I decided to change it to World 4-2 since the aforementioned world is only simple as usual, while this one has several glitches discovered by several speedrunners who played the level of the Super Mario Bros. game. Although World 1-1 and the other worlds also have glitches, this one has more. I also visited this level while playing the game and discovered the warp zone a long time ago but not the wrong warp glitch.
