We want to reduce the ads on Newgrounds and need your help! If NG achieves 2,750 active Supporters this year, we'll remove all ads from rated E-M art view pages for the remainder of 2019 and hopefully forever. Supporters browse the entire site ad-free, something we hope the whole world can do some day!

Kai (old realism practice)

Share

Really old realism practice portrait. ~2 years-ish
(posting things I never got around to putting up here; has been on my deviantart for a while)
I have been meaning to try this again though!

Kai belongs to me and is a character from my partially animated webcomic, which can be read on my website: www.dcm.larkleclear.com/

Oh my gosh, your realism is AWESOME!
Mine doesn't even reach the level in skill yet but that's my goal.....

so..long have you be drawing realism?
I got about 3 years in.... lol and it doesn't look like I've improved any. Don't get me wrong, they cool real enough...ish but yeah....
This here is my best: https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/kaileahpnelson/the-boy-i-saw
What are you thoughts about it and any tips?

That is some hair job! I was going to say the more exposed cheek looks off, but it doesn't, it's just an effect of the lens being so close to the subject, if at all. 5/5 Good to see you back!

Airfaerie95 responds:

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it.
It's a bit of an older painting so it probably actually is a little off in some ways XD
I realized that I was neglecting to put things on here because I tend to think of Newgrounds more for animation... so I've got some more art to post over the next few days :)
