A lot of us have heritages that many would rather not speak of. When we find out our past and where we come from most of us say hmm, "The past was rough and I am thankful that today I don't have to live like that."
Yet there are times when we can embrace the past, Those times are right now, for had we not had those rough days, never could we appreciate the better ones.
The woman in the middle of the piece is inspired by the thought that to be Cajun one must be three cultures, Native American, Black, and Irish or Scott-Irish. (Can you imagine what it took to get those three generations together, and how long it took to make me from those generations) The power of three!
